Canada Was Named One Of The Most Beautiful Countries In The Entire World (2023)

O Canada, our home and native land.We're so proud to call this country our home and Canadians can all agree that Canada is incredibly beautiful. It looks like we're not the only ones who think so. Accordingto Rough Guides, Canada was recently named one of the most beautiful countries in the whole world in a new ranking released online.

Travel guidebook company Rough Guides recently ranked the most beautiful countries in the world for 2019. Canada was named the second most beautiful country in the entire world, beating out several popular destinations like New Zealand, Iceland, and the United States to claim the #2 spot.

"In a close call forsecond place is Canada: home of lumberjacks, beavers and maple syrup (if you believe everything you read)," reads the ranking from Rough Guides. "Of course,there’s much more on offer in Canada, not least its mixture of raw beauty and majesticlandscapes".

The description highlights several iconic Canadian destinations in its explanation of why Canada was named the second most beautiful country in the world.

"The Yukon Territory is a place of great wilderness, while B.C. mountains draw skiers and snowboarders in their thousands," reads Rough Guide's description of Canada. "The turquoise colours of Lake Louise are an instagrammer's delight, while the East Coast cities of Toronto and Montreal charm with their great restaurants and cosmopolitan atmosphere."

So which country beat out Canada for the most beautiful? Scotland took the #1 spot on the list, due to its "wild beaches, deep lochs and craggy castles" that "are some of the most wonderful and beautiful sights in the world." On top of the natural wonders, Scotland also has "thousands of years of history, more delicious whiskey than you could taste in a lifetime and excellent golfing, hiking, and biking trails," according to the rankings.
